Crab Soup

Adapted from recipe at Chesapeake Beach, Maryland

INGREDIENTS
makes about 8 cups

1 lb of crab meat
2 cups of diced carrots
2 cups of chopped onions
1 1/2 cups of coarsely chopped celery
1/4 cup of butter
1 tablespoon of seafood seasoning
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
2 large potatos
3 cups of diced tomatos
8 cups of water

PREPARATION

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a large pot.
  2. Place the carrots, onion, célere, butter, seafood seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce in the water and return it to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  4. Add the potatoes and Cook until they are tender
  5. Add tomates and simmer for 10 additional minutes
  6. Add the crab meat last, for a couple minutes, when you are ready to serve.
